The Edge Services Gateway (ESG)

Requirements:
A Pi4 with Raspbian OS (32bit) installed with** ssh** running and connected to the internet for the Videosoft software download.

Installation:

Using a terminal on the desktop or use ssh to connect to the Pi4

Type these commands in the terminal/ssh session:

cd ~
wget -O VSinstall.sh download.videosoft.live/VSinstall.sh
chmod +x VSinstall.sh
sudo ./VSinstall.sh VSG-200

Web interface configuration:

Once installed you will be able to configure the gateway via a web browser using the Pi’s IP address on port 8080. From the desktop open a browser and point it at 127.0.0.1:8080

Using the web interface we will need to make some changes to the initial settings.

On the CCS tab you will need to change the following:
• Hostname = demo.videosoft.live
• Adaptive Video Encoding = Yes
• Optimised Bandwidth Detection = Yes
Please, save all changes before moving away from the page.

On the SOURCES tab you will need to delete the shipped source and add the capture device using the PDF attached. Note: recording is not available for file based sources.

On the STREAMS tab you should access each stream and enable hardware encoding. Remember to save after each change.

Once this is complete you will need to restart the software. This is done by clicking restart on the STATUS page.

Server registration:

Now the device is configured we will need to register the connection on the CCS. To do this we will need the MachinID found on the status page. Please send me this when you are ready.

Client Software

The client software is available from the client download page. Please register for a client login using the simple form found on https://www.videosoftglobal.com/client-login/
Once your details have been entered you will have access to download the client & viewer software using those credentials.

Install the Windows client software by unzipping and double clicking on the install file.
Android and IOS software can be downloaded from the respective app stores.

After the client software is installed please enter the following information to connect to our demo server.

Server Name = Videosoft
Hostname = demo.videosoft.live
Port = 7979
SSL = No
Username = ((whatever we have assigned for you))
Password = ((as supplied))
